A lot of players have done that before.. i don't think they do it on purpose though.

You don't realise that you actually dropped the catch and just took a second grab at the ball, that's up to third umpires to work out and i think players who reach down for a low catch like that should ask for the third umpire decision other wise they may be left with like Ian Bell and be called  a cheat.

Claiming the catch was against the spirit of the game.

Same for other players who have done that..

The batsman should have got the benefit of doubt.

Batsmen should be allowed to challenge the umpires decision in  case of doubtful catches.

Didn't Inzamam do the exact same thing in an ODI vs England in 2006 ???. Didn't Chamara Silva do the exact same thing against England in 2007. Didn't MS Dhoni do the exact same thing against England in 2007 ??

Answer to all 3 questions is YES !, so if you are going to expose Ian Bell then i would suggest that you don't become biased and actually expose all the cheats instead of the one's who did it against your side.

YES HE IS. But it's not just him though. There are many many players who does that. Indian tour in Australia, South African tour in Bangladesh, is the most recent. But yes it happens in cricket all the time. Those are the cricketer who doesn't play by spirit of the game.

Yes, he is definately a cheat.  It was the fact that the ball spilt out and then he made a second grab at it.  

If the ball was only a quick reaction bump-ball then I would have given him the benefit of the doubt.
