  1. ice skating if fab. however that first step you take on the ice will determine how confident you are on the ice i have been umpteen times and sometimes i'm skating round really fast and other times i am too scared to go away from the sides. wear something warmish but you won't be too cold as you will be exercising, also waer things you are comfortable in. i like wearing jeans, and a couple of tops one with long sleeves and gloves. also waer 2 pairs of socks and make sure your boots are nice and snug.

  2. Ice skating is fun and hard.  Wear big socks, or even two pair of sacks, and maybe even bring a third pair with you.  Ice skating is all about ankle support and if you've got a thin pair of socks and need to tie the skates super tight then they dig into your skin and not a layer or two of socks.  It can't hurt to bring extra socks, can it?

Lastly, I was never a good ice skater because of stopping.  I could skate and go fast but when  it came time to stop I slammed into a wall or fell and slid or did the run walk onto the middle surface.  Always give yourself time to slow down; and dragging one skate behind you is a lot easier than the pidgeon-toed method I was always taught.

    Have fun.

  3. ok well i went ice sakting today

if u have ever been rollarblading and you were fine at that.. u shood be fine at ice skating

but if u have never been rollarblading dont go ice skating first.. u will fall flat on ur *** like some one i no that went ice skating with me today....

you should wear what ever you feel comfortable in....

and maybe gloves and a warm warm jacket becoz it does get wuite the chilly inside.

  4. its easy for recreation!

    i would wear layers.

    cami/tanktop

    t-shirt

    sweatshirt.

so if you get too warm you can take things off.

    pants (jeans or sweatpants)

gloves (if you fall you might cut your hand on the ice)

socks*** (yeah, those rentals get pretty scungy.)

pointers for your first time skating:

*if you fall, fall on your hips.

*if you fall straight back, tuck your head in and stick your butt out.

*don't be afraid to fall  (unless you are 65, then be concerned)

  5. can you roller blade?!

if you can, then its easy!

also its pretty easy to pick up if you havent its just like sliding your feet along the floor...

wear jeans or something cos if you fall over you wont hurt yourself as much :)

and a jumper too! it can get pretty cold in ice rinks!

    have a nice time :)

  6. it does take balance and coordination!!  It does take some time to get things down so don't worry if you don't get it right off the bat!

You could wear long pants.....stretch!  and then tights under them(make sure the tights have feet!)

  7. Yeah, it's hard.

    Wear something warm.

  8. Yes and no. The first time is always nerve wracking. the fear of falling is with you, and you just can't balance on two thin blades on a slippery ice surface. But fear not!! It's like riding a bike. As soon as you get it, it'll be so easy and fun for you.

Slowly drift from the wall and if you lose balance, go forwards. that's my best advice.

Wear thin socks that won't bulge up in your skates, and wear layers so if you warm up you can shed one without being cold. You can wear jeans but they absorb water better so you might get cold if you fall down too much and get wet. Also, bring gloves. They really help you out. Have fun!!!

  9. Thicker socks than normal, but 2 or even 3 pairs is ridiculous.

Rain pants so that when you fall your jeans don't get wet.

A sweater to stay warm. A wool hat if you have one.

Have fun and if you fall .. heck we all have
