Is Ichiro Suzuki the best player with a real shot to break the 56 game hit streak?

When he's on , there's no one les better. he's a hitting machine. If he had started in the MLB at 23 he'd have more than 3,000 hits by now.

Does he have a realistic shot? Not at all. I don't believe anyone playing currently has a realistic shot at breaking this record. I also don't believe he has the best shot among active players. His longest ever is 25 games. There are 8 current players with streaks over 30 games. All of the best hitters today walk too often to have the really long streaks. I just don't think it's something we'll see for a long time. The game would have to change significantly. If I had to guess who would do it, it would be someone like Vlad Guerrero or a young player like Dustin Pedroia or Ian Kinsler.
