Is Ichiro the Best Defensive Outfielder Currently?

Question

He made a great Outfield assist today to get out Michael Young at 3rd. This guys got it all; he has blazing speed so he covers a lot of ground out there, he has a cannon arm, and great instincts. The only knock on him is that he doesn't make Webgem catches or dives like a Grady Sizemore or Torri Hunter, but I think he's a much more complete Defender than Sizemore, Hunter, and Ellsbury. Your thoughts?

I agree.  Ichiro is to me the best outfielder defensively there is in the game.  

You know, the way he focuses into the game is because whenever he goes to a new ballpark, he keeps his mind on one object in teh stadium, this way, his eyes wont wonder off and distract his outfield play.  This allows his to be able to get quick first steps and etc.

And to me, the best defensemen arent the ones who wil makes those head first dives, its to me the guy that can cover the most ground.

Theres a reason why Ichiro doesnt slide as much as Hunter or Sizemore, its because he doesnt need to.

Yeah, he's at the top. He doesn't have the agility of Grady, but Grady doesn't have much in the arm department. Its a close one.

I think Sizemore and Hunter are but Ichiro is not far behind

Yeah. He has blazing speed as you mentioned it. Even though he doesn't make those diving catches, he's still one of the best. Too bad he's on a bad team.

He's 2nd behind Torri Hunter...He has one of the best arms in the outfield though.
