Question:

Is Imprint (Twilight Podcast) as good as Mugglecast?

So I've been a huge fan of Harry Potter for years, and I've been following Mugglecast religiously for a long time. However, with the end of the weekly shows on Mugglenet, I am longing for more Andrew, Laura, Matt and Elysa goodness.

So I naturally though of picking up Twilight as often suggested on the shows, in order to transfer over my allegiance to Imprint, their new Twilight podcast. However, I'm on page 354 of Book 1 right now and I just can't seem to get into it (I won't go into the details, this isn't an argument of how HP is or isn't better than Twilight)

I'd like to hear from people who switched over from Mugglecast to Imprint. Is the new podcast just as good as its predecessor? Because I'll finish the book (and probably go on to read the rest of the series) if it is.

Thanks!

  1. What is mugglecast and imprint? Im confused.

  2. I think Imprint is pretty good, although it's not as good as MuggleCast.  Andrew, Laura, Matt, Elysa & co (with maybe the exception of Elysa) just aren't as passionate about Twilight as they are about HP.  You know, with MuggleCast they just love Harry Potter so much and it shines through every podcast they make, but with Twilight it seems more serious and businesslike.  That's just my first impression, though -- there have only been 5 episodes of Imprint compared to 157 of MuggleCast.  However, I have listened to ALL of those episodes.  You don't need to switch over necessarily; MuggleCast weekly episodes are done and Imprint is doing the weeklys now.  If you continue having trouble getting into Twilight, I wouldn't listen to Imprint because they discuss all four of the books.  Hope this helps!

  3. I don't think Imprint is as good as Mugglecast but it is still a very enjoyable podcast.  I I really wouldn't have thought about listening to a Twilight podcast but since they started it and I know and love them from Mugglecast I did.  I probably enjoy Mugglecast more because while I do like Twilight, I love HP so much more.  But Imprint still has the wonderful personalities of Andrew, Laura, Matt and Elysa.

  4. I think it's good only because the same people from Mugglecast do the show. But Mugglecast is definitely better. I mean they've got Micah, Andrew, Jamie, Ben, Eric, Laura, Matt, Mikey B, and Kevin. But Imprint just has Andrew, Laura, Elysa, and Matt. And plus there's only so much you can discuss about the Twilight books. The same thing bascially happens in every book. Whereas they been talking about Harry Potter for 3 years on Mugglecast and I'm still not tired of it.

The mugglecast guys are the ones who actually got me to read the Twilight books.

But like you said the Twilight books definitely don't capture your attention like the HP series does. So they're really hard to dive into. With HP you actually feel like you're there with the characters. But with Twilight you feel like you're reading book.
