This is the third time this question has been asked in the last two days.

I personally think that main reason the players are playing in the IPL is for the money.

  It(IPL) is  trying  the  successful  western  format  of  league sports,where

league games are more popular than country(international) games,and there is sport+glamour+entertainment,like NBA

which has cheerleaders and performers

   ICL  was the same with cricket,entertainment(cheerleaders

and performing artists) and all yoked together

This concept has succeeded in other countries in sports

like football,NBA,......etc

It might succeed in India as well,but,I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I agree IPL is about big bucks

But like ODI benefitted  Test cricket with innovative shots

and fast RR,T20  will also benefit  ODIs and make them less

boring.
