  1. It is about as safe as any where else but I wouldnt wnat to live there

  2. lol my grandparents live there they like it. iv been a few years we always had fun!

  3. There is waaaaaay more than corn in Indiana! Indianapolis is really a GREAT place to live. I moved here two years ago....very hesitant at first, but to my suprise I really feel in love with the city! The thing I love most about it is that it's a bigger city with all the amenities, but yet it really has a small "town" feeling to it. Everyone is really friendly, there's TONS to do and it's extremely easy to get around!

There are a couple not-so-great areas....just like anywhere has, but they are really easy to avoid. I've never "had" to drive through one to get anywhere and compared to a lot of bigger cities our "bad" areas really aren't that bad! So, overall I would say it's pretty high up on the safety scale!

There are also SOOOO many apts, townhome, condos going up and it's a great place to buy right now....it's in the top 50 in the nation! You get a lot for your dollar!

    Hope this helps!!!

  4. Yes, it is very safe.  Especially the suburbs.  I have lived on the southside all my life and have never had to deal with any violence.  There is a lot of corn, but it is fantastic!

  5. not for dave letterman!

    it's NEVER just corn!!

  6. i used to lived there  its fun. whole lot to do

  7. I've lived here most of my adult life.  It all depends on where you live.  There are great, expensive places downtown.  Some of the inner city neighborhoods have violence but that's true of all cities.  The suburbs are great.

You're right about the corn.  My family moved from Ft. Wayne to Houston when I was 8.  We returned when I was 16.  There is practically no horizon in TX.  I felt hemmed in when driving the country roads when the corn was high.  Got over that.

I think this area is a great one to live in and to raise a family.

  8. h**l no it is not safe and no not all the time i know because i live here

  9. Depends on the area just like any city.  East side and the West Side are notorious for crime.  But a few miles down the road you have million dollar houses and no crime.

  10. It has it's good and bad parts of town just like any other city.

  11. Indianapolis is a safe city.  There are some parts that aren't as good as others but I have never felt unsafe or avoided any area of the city even at night.

Indy has a lot of things to do that have nothing to do with corn.  Most things are located in or near the downtown area within easy walking distance.  The restaurants and nightlife are great.  The zoo and several museums are located along the river that runs on the edge of the downtown district.  The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is about a mile from downtown.

There is a minor league (AAA) baseball team in town.

For more nightlife, try the Broadripple area on the north side of town.  No matter where you go it is easy to get to.

  12. There's more than corn in Indiana.  A premier indy race track, great malls, museums, zoo, resturants, and lots of really great people.  As mentioned before, there are good and bad parts of every city, but Indy is really nice!  I think that it has a lot of the resources of a larger city without the headache of traffic and millions of other people.  For a weekend trip in the fall, try visiting Bloominton, home of Indiana University, and check out the beautiful leaves.  About an hour south of Indy.
