It has 130,000 miles and new tires but needs a tune-up. I don't know how much the tune-up is gonna cost me, but I can't afford paying more than $2,500.

  1. - The price is fairly good.

    - J30 is not too bad for snow, but it has rear wheel drive that is not as good as front wheel cars for snow.

    - The fuzzy cat's website and the Yahoo's infiniti club website will be very helpful.

    - For tune up... if you are going to put aftermarket spark plugs to the car, it won't cost much... but is the car actually have some problem, but the seller only selling it needs a tune up? Be careful on this part.

    - Tire will cost you around $350 for 4 tires. J30 tires aren't cheap.

My 1993 J30 -128k miles is still running good, it requires fixes once a while for small things - mine fixed headlight relay and starter and injuctor, but transmission and engine are still running very great.

  2. Any car in a snow climate requires snow tires in winter to perform well.  The J30 has a VLSD (if it is still operating)  and is not bad in the snow at all.

If you don't have another $3K to restore the car due to the undoubtedly deferred maintenance (transmission or timing belts?), don't buy it or any other until you save the cash.

  3. Not if you are in a snow climate, the J30 is terrible in the snow, other then that sounds good. Take the VIN number to a Infiniti dealer and see if there is a history at other dealers.
