  2. That depends on if the applications you are going to use are capable of taking advantage of multiple cores.  If you are using cpu intensive applications that can make use of the multiple cores, the quad core is better, if not, than the dual core is better.

  3. Well, a Quad core is more advanced.

    But is it better?

    Depends on how you use your computer.

    For the average Internet user the Quad core really doesn't do much.  Even for Gamers it isn't needed.

    If you Mutlitask, Render, Make Movies A LOT then the Quad is for you.

    Otherwise, stick with the duo.

  4. The Quad will run programs that take advantage of all the cores faster. BUT there aren't that many right now.  Personally i would go with the Duo, you shouldn't see much of a difference.  Just my opinion.  I got a dual core instead of the quad for my rig and i'm totally pleased.
