  1. Quite a difference, if you are planning on studying in another country, it will do wonders for you, and It puts you a bit above people that don't have it, when it comes to university( i don't mean like mentally, or any other way). I took it in canada, and then I moved to mexico with my family where I'm now in university, and down here, every private/semi private schools are international baccalaureate, because they reallize it's important. If you have the oportunity, then go for it. it's a bit more work but it's worth it

edit: you totally can still have a social, mine was normal lol, the same as my friends (who didn't take it), the only time i couldn't go out as much was around exam time, when there's lots of projects and stuff, and wel exams, but thats it.

  2. hey i go to an IBO school and i have to say it is worth it. it looks great on a college application it looks great. And at my school Westlake Academy we are ahead of regular public schools. If you need anything else contact me.

  3. Yes, it is so worth it (I'm in it) and it makes a huge difference.  If u do well in IB u can get into practially any college u want (that's y they have it.)  Also, don't listen to the person who said u will have no social life.  I'm on it and I was on student council, the basketball team, the tennis team and the paper as well and still had a bf and hung out with friends.  U just have to figure out how to manage ur time is all.  At my school we have a long study hall so I get almost all of my home work done then and that leaves the rest of the day after school to hang out.  Don't get me wrong, it's hard, but it has to be for colleges to except IB credit.  Anyway, yes join the IB program, I did it at my old school and am going to do it again at my new school this year.

    Good Luck

  4. Yes, the IBO experience is wonderful and powerful when applying to colleges.  IB sets a student apart from all others!  Go for it and you will enjoy the experience!

  5. Only if you want to have little to no social life during high school.  I had the opportunity to do it, but I chose not to.  A few guys I know regret doing it because of all the studying and community service they needed to do.
