Question:

Is Iraq a Sovereign and Independent Colony?

One cannot help but be amused over the negotiations taking place between President Bush and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki over how long U.S. troops will be permitted to stay in Iraq and whether occupation troops will be subject to Iraqi law in the interim

Why is this something that even needs to be negotiated? I thought that Iraq was now a sovereign and independent country. Isn’t that what U.S. officials have been telling us ever since U.S. troops invaded and occupied Iraq some six years ago?

  1. How on earth Bush can whine about South Ossetia, attacked by Georgia with MLRS, and demand immediate withdrawal while this is ongoing shows the breathtaking stupidity and arrogance of the man...

It also illustrates the precise position of the US as occupying power, against the will of an overwhelming majority Iraqi people in poll after poll...

    Bush doesn't give a d**n.

  2. Iraq's oil policy was written by the big oil and given to Iraqi parliament to make legitimate...how sovereign and independent can you get!!

  3. No, Iraq is an "American Occupied Territory" by legal definition.

  4. More lies and deception.

  5. Not sovereign and independent. The Iraqi leadership is a joke. A puppet leader and he's going to do what Bush tells him to do.
