Is Ireland Grove a PPO for BCBS of IL?

My son is scheduled for surgery and my BCBS of IL insurance says the Ireland Grove Center for surgery is not a PPO. The lady at the hospital doesn't know. She can't even find their tax id number for me to double check with my insurance either. I called the doctor and he says the hospital is so new that it just signed the contract with BCBS last month so they will pay as a PPO. I called the insurance back to confirm a contract was signed and they can't confirm this. So do you know if it is? Did you go there using BCBS and was it paid as a PPO?

okay... sounds like no one knows what the h**l they are doing here. if i were you, i would NOT carry out this surgery unless you knew for sure. get ahold of the credentialing department at BCBS.. or call provider relations. those places can tell you. also, go to the bcbs website and look for the name of that facility. if you cant find it, its not contracted YET. and there is a good chance that if the surgery is close, they wont be then either.
