  1. Absolutely! Ireland is breathtakingly beautiful. It rains a lot, but it keeps the grass green, and Ireland lives up to it's "Emerald Isle" nickname. Go to Yahoo or google images and type in Ireland, and you'll see lots of photos.

  2. Oh God it is!

It is by far more beautiful than depicted on novels. I live in Ireland and the beauty of this place surpasses any other on earth. The weather is sweet too, rains a lot but then it suddenly stops. You get used to it. To me it is perfect!

  3. Absolutely!!  Just make sure the sun is shining when you visit.

monsoon season is typically October through to March so avoid like the plague.

  4. Yes most definitely, I've holidayed in the Republic of Ireland for the last 10 years making sure  we get at least two visits a year, all the above post are spot on, it's like the Lake district and the Yorkshire dales all in one basket with lovely people, not seen many redheaded men though, they seem to be more dark haired with the gentle Irish lilt to their voices

  5. I live in Ireland and to tell you the truth it depends on the time of year and where you are! In the country in the summer is GORGEOUS! But in the winter...its not so good...

  6. No doubt.

    Specially the country side

    and the Ring of Kerry

  7. lordy lord yes. ive never been there but ive seen a tape of a relative there.

  8. Yes, it's the contrasts that will amaze you. The ruggedness of the coastline, the gentle green and heather covered hills, the stark ruins, the white sandy beaches of the West Coast.  However, It is the warmth and welcoming nature of the people that intensifies all these elements.http://www.fiddleheadantiques.com/escort...

  9. Yes yes yes it's so beautiful on the west coast

  10. yes it is.

  11. I sure hope so. It's my dream to go there one day and just gaze at the green pastures and hills. -sigh-

  12. Well i've just moved over here (5 months ago) with my kids to Mallow in Cork i only came to visit once and 1 month later i moved here its beautiful.  Its def nice when the sun's shining but yes it can rain a lot, I came from England (dont miss it at all) and life here is so laid back not the fast pace i was used to some days i don't know wot to do with myself, i get in the car and go drive the views from some places are breathtaking and i haven't seen half of it yet!!!!  So yes Ireland is beautiful.

  13. Yes it is. But property development has changed Dublin so much, the beautiful green fields I used to visit are now housing developments. But rural Ireland is breathtaking.

  14. i was born and bred in treland, still live there. it is beautiful in most parts- but like everywhere else the urban parts are ugly!

oh, and i have also got red hair and a lovely accent!

  15. If you're American, or British, or used to clean cities and towns, watch out. Ireland's landscape is beautiful (when the sun actually shines), but the towns and cities are dumps. There's garbage and cigarette butts everywhere. And they have so few trash cans so it's no wonder. There's also a lot of disrepair.

  16. Hi, Oh yes the song "Forty Shades of Green" is true, as you are flying into Dublin Airport it is just a beautiful sight to behold.  And Ireland has the most beautiful scenery. Lovely country with lovely people.

  17. I live in Ireland and it is beautiful.  We have beautiful beaches and rolling hills covered in heather.  Wicklow is called the garden of ireland and is very green.  The west coast is more rugged.  Donegal is stunning.

Don't come expecting lots of red hair - some people have red hair but it is by no means common.  We don't say "top of the morning" either!

The weather isn't always great but if you dress warmly and prepare for rain then it won't bother you.  There are lots of different kinds of green. We have a saying that if you can see the mountains clearly it is going to rain and if you can't it's already raining!

  18. it is much better than the novels make it

  19. It is certainly very green.

Wet and green.  A bit like Yorkshire but with nicer people.

  20. is nicer, you should take a trip over here some time, make sure you come to cork, best city in ireland. we ll be waiting with a chilled pint of guinness to welcome you.

  21. It's better!

After two visits there (and another one planned)  I am convinced that nobody can actually decribe the beauty; you have to witness it for yourself.    As a Zone 5 (Michigan) gardener, I am amazed at the plants and shrubs that grow wild there:  fuschia!   Buddleia!   Hydrangeas and rhododendron everywhere!     Stone walls, winding roads, ancient castles, arching stone bridges and other structures....sigh.    I wish I was on my way there now.

And how charming to be driving along one of those winding roads, and have to stop for a sheep, or a farmer bringing his cows in from the field.    (I'm convinced Ireland's so very green because of the sheep, as I haven't noted that it rains any more there than it does at home.)

Even lovelier than the scenery are the people, both physically and spiritually.    I've never seen so many redheads in one place in my life.

  22. Some areas of it are but Dublin although it has some beautiful spots and a ceertain charm to it is not what it once was. The rural areas of Kerry, Cork, Clare, Leitrim, Sligo and Galway as well as Donegal are really lovely.

  23. i hope so. are the boys there mostly redheads and gorgeous and have lovely accents like i think they do?

    i hope so too.

  24. It's even more beautiful! ;)

  25. We were in Ireland in 2004.

Oh my God they are not kidding about the 40 shades of green, and how incredibly blue the sky is.

The people are friendly and we loved the food.

    Michael

  26. Yes it is, you must go. Kerry is the most scenic and Dublin is the best!

  27. the most beautiful place in the world. the novels don't do it justice. not that many hot guys but americans seem to think so.
