Is Israel part of the EU?

I only ask as they seem to have a special relationship with european countries & some of their teams play in the champioms league , which really is european?please enlighten me , they seem to have the best of both.

  11. No, Israel is not part of the EU.  Because of cultural and economic ties and because of the historical circumstances that drove many Israeli families from Europe into Palestine, Israel has a unique status in the world in a lot of ways.

  13. Israel is in Asia not Europe. Yes there is a special relationship between most European countries and Israel. It is the place where they can dump their Jewish population without seeming to much the bigot.
