Question:

Is It Hypocritical to Object to Murdering Homeless People If You Object to Government Welfare Programs?

There are people who claim that it is wrong to murder homeless people. And yet they object to government welfare programs. Is this not hypocritical? They pretend to care about the homeless, but do nothing to help them.

A similar argument is used in the abortion debate.

  1. I believe welfare creates dependency, and I work down at the mission on a regular basis. Who is arguing to murder the homeless? If anything, the government should be committing many homeless to mental institutions where they belong, but it's the Liberals who oppose that. Do you remember Rosie O'Donnell accusing Giuliani of "arresting the homeless"? The man was trying to do the right thing.

  2. My opinion is no, but I would not be murdering them just not helping them.   Yes I object to paying for lazy people who don't want to work and depend on the government to take care of them.  You know the ones sitting around begging for money and doing nothing as you walk by on your way to your hard working job.  You know the ones that you offer to get something to eat for them but they refused because they are only interested in the money.  Pleaseeeeeee

  3. Do you even know the incentives behind capitalism and libertarianism? It's about private charity over government charity. What the government can do, the private sector can do ten times better - and strengthening the economy in the process instead of ruining it.

STFU if you don't know **** about what you are talking about.

  4. I don't know of ANYONE who objects to government welfare programs that help the truly needy. What EVERYONE I know of who does object to the program AS IT EXISTS TODAY is that it has so many loopholes in it for those who are just lazy and milking the system. What we all advocate is welfare reform... And I bet you knew that, but just wanted to spout your liberal rhetoric... yet again.

  5. Your way off base with your analogy.  Welfare is a boon to our country and has been since FDR started it.  The government has taught the people that they don't have to work to get money and people are flocking to it.

Welfare needs to disappear for everyone except the elderly and the disabled who are unable to earn a living.

We need to enact a Government work program where we employ those who are leeching off the Government to do a hard days work for their paycheck.

  6. There is a huge differance between actively trying to do harm to someone and not helping them.

  7. For all the arguments and facts thrown around with the abortion debate, it really comes down to whether you believe the unborn are human.  Do you believe an unborn human is really a human?  If you do, you're going to be pro- life.  If you don't, you're going to be pro- choice, as it wouldn't be murder to take the life of something that's not human.

To me, the other arguments may seem helpful, but they aren't going to convince anyone because one isn't addressing that core issue.  And I don't know of any way to prove to someone that the unborn either are or are not human if they're convinced of the opposite.  Hence, the abortion debate rages on.

  8. And murdering people helps them how?

  9. How did I miss the "murdering the homeless" debate? Which side argued that murdering the homeless was OK?

  10. I care about the homeless, but it is not my personal obligation to give them the money I work so hard for. It is also not the place of the government to take money from my hand and decide who is most deserving of the stolen money. When you give people money that do nothing you only reinforce behavior. I got any Idea why don't we just give every unemployed person $75,000/year welfare, then they will get up and get a job and work for themselves. If you want people to get off unemployement and welfare and earn a living you must take away the welfare crutch.
