Is is illegal to set up hidden cameras in Your Own House? I have heard that it is only illegal if you do it in the bedroom or bathrooms. What if you tape your own living room couch, would that be illegal?

  1. It's legal to install hidden cameras as long as you are not putting them in places where you might film people in a state of undress or acting in an intimate manner without their knowledge.  So your living room or kitchen is OK, but not bedrooms or bathrooms. (UK law).

If they agree to being filmed doing whatever, and are adults, that's different.  Informed consent is the key thing you need to obtain.

  2. if it's in your house, you can set up as many cameras as you want. If you're trying to monitor a baby sitter to see if she's doing anything bad in your house, it's not illegal. If you put a camera in your shower and video tape them in the shower, it's kinda illegal.

  3. in your own home you can tape anything bathrooms,bedrooms... anything

it has to be in your house

    c ya

    take care

  4. I love your name!!!!! lol

  5. It depends on what state you live in.  Many have video voyeurism and invasion of privacy laws.  Regardless of what state you're in, videoing someone in "the act" without his or her consent is morally wrong.

  6. In your home you can tape where ever and whenever you want.
