  1. nothing is illegal about it. it is in public private property.he can record. i think the rule is that if you can see it from the street or hear it from the street then it is legal. If you are naked in front of your window and people in the street can see you it can be recorded and placed on youtube now if he has to sneak in your bushes or climb up a tree then that is invasion and other things.

  2. As long as you are in an area where there is no expectation of privacy, a sign is not needed in order to record you.

  3. The rule to cameras is you can video tape, but you can not recorded the conversation . Hint Big Brother watching you.

  4. Since you would be in full public view anyway and a person could stand there with a camera, I doubt that this is illegal. Stores and various business have security cameras.  Posting signs does not necessarily mean that it is required by law.  The businesses may just be posting them to discourage theft.

  5. It is rare that a surveillance camera is ever illegal in a public place, but to record conversations could be illegal.

  6. He is allowed to record in public places

  7. He probably can film you in any public area, at least that is true in my state. He may not be able to record what you say in private converstation unless he/she is involved in that conversation also, then he could without telling you. At least that is also true in my state

  8. not in a public area you have no expectation to privacy...the only way it would be a problem is if he was posting it to the internet for example...but even then its only a civil issue not criminal

  9. Each state varies so you must find out the laws for the states that are involved. Such as if you are taping a telephonic conversation and one party is in a different state then you need to find the limitations of that state as well. You can do so by contacting a lawyer or police officer in the area.

  10. In that situation it is completely legal.  It's in a public area you have no expectation of privacy there.  If he wants to put up added security to protect his belongings what is the problem?
