It seems easier to talk and enjoy each other's company seated across from each other. It also seems like it would be easier to eat (you know...elbow room).

If they want to be close and snuggle, they can wait for later to do that.

Even when I was younger and "dated" I never preferred to sit on the same side. Now that we're married, we each sit on our side with a kid (LOL). How times change.

I second that! Ugh....even when my husband and I were first dating, and in our "honeymoon" stage...we never did that, and I can't imagine WHY anyone would want to do it.  As if those booths could be any tighter/claustrophobic feeling...HERE...let me cram my ar$e right next to you, and practically smother you as you try to eat.  Ick..no thanks...I like my space..

Seeing this is almost as annoying as having to hear the 20 minutes of "I love you more....NO..I love YOU more..etc..etc." bs.  Ugh...I just want to scream "get a room!"

sitting on the same side is just odd to me anyway. don't you go out to eat with someone to make eye contact and communicate? i feel like they're watching the single people  in the restaurant like some national geographic special.  "woah look at that one! humanus singularus in their natural habitat"

haha.. I was just saying the same thing when my boyfriend and I went out the other day...  I don't know what it is but it is SO annoying. My boyfriend thought i was just being ridiculous. I'm glad someone else thinks the same way.

Hahaha...it's not just you! I saw a commercial where the couple sits on the same side and it annoyed me to no end!! They're probably in that "madly, deeply in love" stage, but it's oddly annoying for some reason!

lol.. Boy if that's all that bothers you, your life must be pretty good. I think it's great that a realtionship is good enough these days were couples actually enjoy sitting next to each other... I take it your relationship sucks.. There's nothing wrong sitting next to the person you love, it shows happiness, you should try it sometime.
