Question:

Is It Legal For A Renter To Rent An Apartment/Home To A Renter Without Proper Cleaning?

I live on a military base and the homes are owned by a private leasing company. I requested to move into a bigger home and they offered me a home but said I had to take it as is. Meaning they will not clean it or paint it. I will get it however the prior tenants left it. I don't feel great about this but I am desperate to move before my husband deploys to Iraq. I have two children and am pregnant with another and I can't move on my own if something comes up later. I just wanted to know if this was even legal? I live in Kentucky if that makes any difference.

  1. You are taking the apartment in AS IS condition.  Of course, it is legal.

  2. The company doing business with the DOD answers to SOMEONE, Work Up the chain of command.

  3. Of course it is 100% legal.

The person did not have to take the apartment.  They could have choosen not to move in.

    Look for a new place.

  4. I have had to clean every place I have rented.  A couple of them said they cleaned before hand, but if they did, I would have hated to see it before it was clean.
