  1. ..the battery charging system in laptops will quit charging when it is fully charged....this allows you to use the laptop powered by line current instead of the battery....which mfg recommend to extend your battery life.....

  2. Once the battery is fully charged being plugged in will just allow you to work off of AC power-meaning the plug. This way, you can work on your computer, and it won't reduce your charge. By the way. everybody that can plug in their charger will do that instead of using battery power. Only use battery power when you do not have  a plug for ac power.

  3. This will not do any real damage as such as long as you don't have it plugged in all the time on full charge with your battery in. When using the laptop plugged in take the battery out as this CAN affect your battery!

  4. Leaving a laptop battery after it has finished charging will do some effect, not much. It is recommended to remove or use the battery after 10 hours use on AC Power (With the battery at 100%).

If you are going to be away from your laptop for a few days, or a few weeks and are worried about it being damaged, the best way to prevent this is to leave the battery in a not-too-cold-or-hot room (around 20-25 degrees Celsius) at a Charge of 40%.

  5. no it wont - they self protect. I have mine on power nearly all the time and no deterioration of battery life

  6. Hi,

it is not a big problem... The battery will be a little bit affected..

the battery will also not last forever in the other way..

So I wouldn't care too much about it.

  7. The drawback is battery backup(life) will reduce.

  8. Hi, im not sure if it would do it any good but whilst i use my laptop wich is most of the day from about 1pm-11pm i have my charger pluged in. i havent yet seen any change in my laptop

  9. Your laptop's battery might break... or explode.  You wouldn't like that.

  10. Yes. It's okay to leave it plugged it. Just don;t leave the laptop on for 24/7 then you'll run into problems with the laptop over heating.

  11. They are equipped with a safety device, so they won't over charge....it's fine to leave it plugged in and charging....

  12. actually you can Over Charge your laptop, leave it there plugged 24/7... because when your battery is fully charged, there is a device in laptops that prevent / stops electricity from your charger... hmm, the other thing is you might get a higher electric bill if you just leave your laptop chager plugged in... lol..

  13. The laptop is designed to stop charging after it "knows" the battery is full. By measuring current and heat. However, once a month minimum, you should unplug the laptop and run the battery until its almost gone, less than 5%. think of it like stretching, if you stop doing it you loose elasticity. the same applies to rechargable batteries. once a month is a good number.
