Question:

Is It Possible To Fail Zelda: Ocarina of Time on N64?

I got Zelda Ocarina of Time for my seventh birthday - it was a pre-owned game. One game file was - I think - finished. I went into the game file and went to the Market near Hyrule Castle. (The game opened in there, not in Link's tree house, a dungeon or Hyrule Field). There wasn't that happy "townie" music, but there were mummies everywhere (I think they're called Re-Deads). There was a rainbow near the Temple of Time. I know this wasn't a dream because my sister was there when I opened the game file, and she still vaguely remembers it.

I think that the person who used to own my copy of Zelda might of failed the game. If he or she did fail - how?

(Also, please only answer if you're very sure on your answer).

Thanks!

  1. There's no "failing". You just witnessed an event in the game.

Erase that save file and start from the beginning. It will make sense when you get to that point in the game.

  2. That is a specific level/event in the game. I am absolutely positive, because I know exactly what you're talking about. The person did not fail the game, nor is it possible to really "fail" it.

Hope that helps! :D That's a great game!

  3. You were an adult. When you are an adult in the game, 7 years pass. The Market is a dead zone and was the rainbow you are talking about a bridge to the castle floating in mid air? That's Ganondorf's Castle. A certain level in the game. The final level. You have to go through his castle (like any other dungeon) and beat Ganondorf at the end. Then guide Zelda out of the crumbling castle and defeat Ganon.

The only way you can fail the game is if when you are coming out of castle, you run out of time. Then you will have to defeat Ganondorf again.

What you see in the game is perfectly normal.
