Is It Possible To Volunteer At Barnes & Noble?

Question

Same as the title. Is it possible to volunteer at a Barnes & Noble retail store, such as right now - during the summer? If so is there any required training?

i think you need to work there instead of just volunteering. but i don't know. you can try.

What would you do? If they are fully staffed, probably none of the staff would have time to train you. And as a volunteer, you would have no accountability for the quality of your work, whatever that might be. Why would they take a chance on somebody who could walk out at any moment and really would have no incentive  to stay or to do a good job?

If you love books, why not volunteer at your public library instead? You could be especially helpful in the children's section, helping to make reading fun and memorable for them.

ummm...why would you volunteer at the B & N?  B & N is a corporation in business for a profit.

The only possible way I see to volunteer work at Barnes and Noble is to do something community related that happens to be taking place in a store location. Store locations often get involved in things in the area such as having book fair programs to benefit local schools and other organizations. Of course this volunteer work wouldn't be arranged directly through Barnes and Noble and I'm not sure if it's really likely that any volunteer work would be needed in the store.

Well you must like books to want to volunteer at Barnes and Noble.  So you probably would end up spending money there.  It is very rare that I can walk in there and just buy one book.  Why don't you try the local Humane Society or  SPCA.  They usually need volunteers or even some of the Hospitals have volunteers. Both of those places you would be really contributing.
