Is It Possible to break someones elses neck?

So i had a discussion with my mother and some friends and my mother told me that it is physically impossible for a normal person to break someones neck like in the movies(twisting the head extremely to the side). My friends disagree.

yes its impossible for a NORMAL person because a NORMAL person wouldnt do that so technicly she is right. but other wise you can break the persons neck

The human neck is surprisingly weak, especially to twisting motions.  Bad design.

Yes, it's very possible to twist someone's neck hard enough to break it.  An 80 lb woman wouldn't be able to break a 250 lb pro-wrestler's neck, but a grown man can break a normal sized man's neck with enough effort.

Yes it's very possible.  I broke my neck by just diving into a pool and hitting the bottom head first.  That shows it takes some force but can be done.  A blow by some one to the neck or taking some one to the ground and landing the the back of their neck would do it easy.

It is most certainly possible.  Of course, it would require someone who has the strength or leverage to pull it off and his victim would have to be on the light side.
