Is It Safe To Put A Lamp Over My Crested Gecko Tank?

I want to know if its sake to put a normal display light over my Created Gecko tank?

  2. I would be wary about using the "regular" type light with him for that long. With him being so young it's important for proper growth and development that they get UV light. Does this light keep the tank at the right temps? What is going to happen after those two weeks? Is he going into a bigger tank, getting rid of him...I don't hink you should get a 10 gallon tank for him while he is little because the tank can't have both the cool and hot end like you need. I lost 2 lizards to overheating in a 10 gallon tank and I don't think that you want that happening. I would go with a 20 gallon because he should be able to stay in it for years.  I'm including a couple of care sheets for you. Good luck.

  3. As long as the gecko can climb up to a safe distance from the light (as in, it cannot touch the light, or be too close to it), then the light should be fine.
