I don't know if this is true. I heard that after WWII when the n**i party fell that anything related to them were all destroyed; posters, uniforms, weapons, metals... everything.

Which is why there are n**i memorabilia collectors because n**i stuff are worth a lot of $.

  1. No, that is not true.  Though it is true that Germany (formally Bundes Republik Deutschland) enacted laws that banned n**i symbols (like the Swastika, the book "Mein Kampf", etc)  after World War II, and also restricts neo-n**i propaganda (the modern equivalent of the n**i party).  But that is only in Germany.  In America, our constitution protects our freedom of speech and religion.

  2. If everything was destroyed how would the n**i Memorabiliaia collectors you mention even exist?

  3. yes that is true, even wolfenstein was changed in germany because it had n**i flags and stuff so they had to remove all that,

  4. pretty much everything... not aaall... but most of it

  5. After the defeat of the National Socialists, efforts were made to destroy many things, including Hitler's Führerbunker. Originals of particular artifacts, such as uniforms, were destroyed especially if they were SS uniforms [the SS was considered an illegal organization by the allies since it was not truly an army and were the ones who were primarily involved with the running of the camps]

A LOT of things were destroyed either due to bombing or to actual intentional destruction. It is true that remaining n**i memorabilia is worth a lot of money mainly due to it being quite rare.

I personally collect n**i memorabilia. Most of my collection consists of replicas [which are also rather expensive if they are museum quality, as mine are.] Now, I have been in this collection scene for a while and have seen original stuff going in the $10,000 +

Other original stuff isn't as horrendously expensive, but it is quite expensive for what it is: i.e.- a  miniature propaganda booklet sells for $100

Now to answer your original question, yes a lot of things were  destroyed by individuals or by the war itself. Other artifacts were actually taken by allied troops as mementos. One of the more popular "keepsakes" for allied soldiers was the SS dagger. They took stuff of value, not garbage, that's for sure.

Anyway, because of war destruction, intentional individual termination of the items and allied looting, original n**i artifacts are rather rare and quite high in monetary and historical value.

  6. no

  7. No, that's not true.

  8. You just answered your own question- if ANYTHING RELATED Was DESTROYED...there wouldn't BE any of it, would there!

  9. Of course it wasn't. Indeed, remember in this Olympic year that the n**i Stadium built for the 1936 games still stands. They couldn't possibly destroy every bit of uniform worn by every soldier could they?

  10. When Germany basically realized during the end of the war that they were going to loose they decided to destroy many n**i items and lots of holocaust related things in an attempt to keep them from the Allies. The plan was two fold:

    1.  Allies will not know as much about the holocaust and about n**i Germany's future plans for the war. This would just pissed off the Allies more if they knew about it.

    2.  Prevent the allies from gaining anything of value or anything that could be used by them such as supplies. Towards the end of the war Europe was in shambles and so if the Allies found something like a huge supply shed of useful items they would have taken it. The German's basically just trashed in all becuase they didn't want the Allies to have it.

  11. Na, there's probably some stuff hidden really good over in Europe, or probably in Argentina because some ex n***s ex capt there after World War II.

  12. All n**i items found in Germany after the war were taken into custody. No German was allowed to own any of the so-called memorabilia. The Swastika was banned in Germany and so was any neo-n**i party.

    Bill

  13. No, there are still Volkswagen, Mercedes and Ford.  All were n**i related.  In fact, after the War Henry Ford Jr was offered VW free if he rebuilt the factories.  He said no, because of his fathers very pro-n**i belief.  He was a rabid anti-Semite.

  14. no i guess theres still mp44s but thats it

  15. FALSE!!!

Their was a rush on Germany's scientists.  The united states stole the plans for Germany's New York bomber and their Jets.  Russia stole Germany's rocket technology from the v-1 and v-2 rocket program etc.

The German army was retained by the United States as a barrier against Russian aggression. Even with the war drawing to a close, their were active plans to use the remaments of Germany's army against Russia.

  16. obviously

  17. Yes, that's pretty much true, especially in germany and Europe.  It's also a crime (as in jail time) to deny the holocost in Germany.  Pretty interesting. It was a crazy time back then... Glad I missed it.
