  1. No. U do not need training in suffering. I came from a poor family. I did not need training. But I joined. Just to show I could do it.

Some of u x-Marine Pendejo Boys are full of shiit. I was poor for many years never got used to it. Anybody can suffer & sacrifice if the need comes.

  2. I guess you mean joining the Marine Corps.  (I am used to seeing it as going IN the _____.)  But, yes, the USMC can be a good career, and could even be a good way to spend a few years learning more about what you want out of life, while earning credits toward getting help with a college education (if you so choose).

  3. You wont get treated as good as the USAF but you can walk on any other branches base and you always have your head up and turn heads, and get their chics! That was important to me when I was young. Is it worth the Marine Corps time to make you a Marine? Why waste your and their time if you are not sure. What are you looking to do? Are you afraid of getting dirty? Are you afraid to leave your "friends" and family? Can you resist influence from others? The Marine Corps is all about traveling (25 countries 8 years 20 in first 4), partying, drinking, doing stupid things, getting shot at (depending on MOS) and making great friends while disliking 85% of the people you work for. It isnt all fun and glamarous like the movies but it sure as h**l beats being in the navy or air force with some boring job in admin or just putting bombs on a plane and watching someone else go off and fight. Well that leads me to another point what are you looking to do? You can do some jobs that are the same in all 4 branches.  All this is my opinion and I dont regret anything. Not to bash other services but being a Marine even after you leave people(not everyone and a lot depends on how you carrying yourself) will look at you different and I would be lieing if I told you it doesnt make you feel good. I used to love being on the air force base waiting to fly somewhere in Marine Corps cammies, or going to their echange, being at a bar and meeting up with chics and their ex was in the Navy or something and you say Marine. Dont get me wrong we are not gods gift to America BY FAR . Outside of war zones we are pretty embarrassing. You can be in the Air Force and still be able to kick a Marines ***, it is just the history associated with the title automatically makes you a bad *** in most peoples head. Like I said just my opinion. I could go on and on but Ithink I made myself look dumb enough and pissed off eough people in the brother (Army) and SISTER (Navy/Air Force) branches, j/k guys lol.

  4. if you are basing your decision off of yahoo answers, no, please dont go...people like you show up boot as can be, then cry when they realize life is a little bit tougher, so spare your soon to be senior marines the hassle of having to DEAL with you, and mature a little bit.  ALSO...dont ban my answer because i was frank with you, got it champ

  5. I love the "quality of life" statement..as if battles are fought from your room..Thank god I never served with idiots whose main interest was being "treated" better and a "better" quality of life..

As you can tell the USMC is not for everyone..and that is why there are other branches..If everyone could be a Marine then we wouldn't be Marines.

My quality of life was outstanding and my equipment was also outstanding..and guess what..I was never treated bad..

I guess those who enlist into other branches will continue to take shots at the USMC because they didn't enlist into it and now it chapps their ***..

  6. I can't answer that, and no one here can because we don't know what's important to you. If you are one of those people thinking that the military is an "easy ride," then try the Coast Guard or Air Force because the Army and certainly Marine Corps are not an easy ride. If you're just looking for money for school, get a student loan...don't sign away 4 years of your life (+4 years inactive reserve) because you were too lazy to work while you went to college.

People join every branch in the military for a variety of reasons. I don't know those reasons, so I can't tell you if it's "worth it." I don't know what's worth it to you.

  7. Haha, quality of life?  Go Airforce?  No, no, no!  I spent 10 years in the Marine Corps, we get used to our lifestyle.  We may be the lowest budgeted of all the services but we take nothing for granted!  It is an honorable move to be in the Gun Club.  I never regretted it once moment.  Even though I spent a year on an Air Force Base, their lifestyle was oustanding.  They have Dorms while we live in open squad bays!  h**l, they even have their chow hall open 24-hours!  And there is no restrictions on what you may eat, you can request everything, and I mean everything!  They have civilians cleaning their rooms while we have to clean our own at inspection level each week.  But in turn, you get used it.  You actually get used to it the moment you step on those yellow foot prints!  You'll learn a great deal about taken things for granted!  We may get hand-me downs, like the Hummers handed down from the Army and 'new' carpet from the old Air Force buildings (I'll tell that story if you want-you'll laugh).  But I suggest that the Marine Corps is something that you'll never regret.

  8. The Marines are notorious for having the worst quality of life of the 4 major services. I would suggest the Airforce.
