Is It just me or should nascar only have american cars?

Agreed. Problem is that NASCAR is privately owned by the France family. When Toyota came waving $$$ they said how much $$$ and when.

You are aware Toyota's are built in Kentucky, right?

You also know that all American cars and trucks have over 50% foreign built items, right?

I guess we shouldn't allow non americans to come to a race and watch as well hah???    Where was it ever written that NASCAR is only for Americans and American cars.  When the series was started from day one its purpose was to expand and reach out to as many people as possible.  If we didn't allow other manufacturers in the sport would probably die in 10 years with todays global economy.   Its a different world and people need to realize this.

Oh come on Mr Colletta you have never seen a rulebook and neither has any average person outside of NASCAR..

Most toyota's and other foreign named cars are built here any way We just got a VW plant so if I bought one I would be supporting 2000 neighbors.  Will you stop drinking Budweiser when In bev a Belgian company buys them

i'm just gonna mention to the people who think it should be all American that you'd have to get rid of Dodge as well......Since the dodge parent company is now DAHMLER-Chrysler.....and I'm sure if you checked, Ford and Gmc aren't 100% American made these days.   Ford has been using mazda engines in ford rangers for over 15 years, Chevy has used toyota engines in the past, and the duramax diesel is manufactured by isuzu.   I personally hope that Nissan will throw its hat in the nascar ring soon.....I drive a titan, a truck that is assembled/manufactured in the Mississippi.   The Transmissions are built in Tenessee, the axles are made by the Dana Corporation, which has plants in the US and Mexico, The shocks are made by Rancho which is an American company.   Any Vehicle sold in the US most likely has Japanese electronics anyway.

How dumb would The Dukes of Hazard be if the General Lee was a Camry! What if Reese Bobby had a Tercel! I just don't understand how people can be all gaga over the king of lame car's.

I know there assembled here. That's because Toyota has an unfair labor advantage over the Big 3 and there getting killed and people think it's just great! It makes me sick. It's a Japanese company.

I don't have a problem with Toyotas in NASCAR.  My favorite driver and team race with Toyotas.  But the EXCUSE that Toyotas are American made, creates American jobs is FLEETING at best.  It's only for a short time./  TOYOTA is foreigned owned.  Owned by a country that WON'T be concerned about the fate of the American worker, the American economy and certainly much less the effect on NASCAR should they decide to pull operations here and move it all to Japan.

Most cars any more have foreign parts.  h**l, even Chevy has Canadian parts in them.  If you were only going to race vehicles made entirely in the U.S. you'd be on a bike.

I lot of people agree with you, but I think it's great to see NASCAR expand overseas! I've been a fan for a long time, and didn't welcome the change. But when I heard about all the drivers in F1, IRL, and even Motorcycle racing who want to become a NASCAR drivers, it really changed my mind! A foreign outlook is great for NASCAR, and I expect to see a Cup race in Canada or Mexico City soon.
