I am long sighted.. and my prescription is fairly mild. ive been wearing them basically all day. Is this regular? does the straining subside? should i take off the glasses when they begin to strain or endure it if i want to get used to them asap?

  1. I also wear glasses and am farsighted and I have to wear mine since it is hard to see up close,so I am just like you. Also, when I got my glasses last year,my "new glasses" headache came around the same time as yours...after a few days, just keep wearing your glasses,it will go away soon!

    Enjoy your new specs!

  2. It can sometimes take up to a week to get used to a new prescription. Eyestrain can also occur. Give them at least a couple more days of full time wearing them. (If you switch from an old pair to a new pair it can create more strain)

If they don't improve in a week or so go see the eyeglass store you purchased them from. Get them to check them, there could always be a mistake.

    Good luck.

  3. It will take 7-10 days to get use to the glasses. Having a mild RX means you dont really need them all the time. Ask you doctor if you should only be using them when you are in from of a compture or driving. That sometimes could be the cose of that also.

Many people think because they get new glasses, they must wear them all the time. If you are a plus power in you RX then you need them to see up close. If you have a minus RX you need them to see far which means you need them to mainly drive.

call the doctor and just ask him the problems you are having, maybe you just mis-understool what he told you to wear them for. or maybe is was a just a lab error and the RX is not correct

    Wish you luck
