Is It ok for a boy to like volleyball?

I like volleyball alot but people make fun of me for it

People like to make fun of other people because they "THINK" it makes them look better.  Ignore them.

While most of the players in volleyball are women, there is still a large number of men players out there.  And volleyball is starting to get younger for the men as well.  

Have fun playing volleyball and ignore the comments.

H*** Yea!!!! guys are like naturals at volleyball and its really HOTT.  volleyball is actually a big thing for guys its not just a girls sport like the mens AVP :))) woo wee those guys are ripped. so yes its ok for you to like volleyball just ignore the people that make fun of you because their big jerks and dont know waht their missing!!!!! :))))  by the way you should join a team and become really good just to show them up and that its a powerful sport. then maybe one day you can talk them into playing you and you can spike em' in the head with the ball "BRING IT" ha ha well just a thought GooD LucK ;)

yeah! all the guys that are on my school's teams are great athletes and such great people. don't listen to those people who are making fun of you. they don't know what they're talking about. they're really stupid to be honest.

for some strange reason volleyball is considered to be a female-dominated sport, which makes everyone think it's so easy to play and that it takes no talent, which is completely untrue. get them to play a game or watch one. they'll start to understand that a guy can like it because it is a tough sport.

plus every girl likes a guy who is in great shape :]

I think it's great is u like volleyball. My club coach is a boy and he is the best player I know. Do what you love and forget about those other guys. Spike a volleyball into their mouths that will keep em quiet lol

its a fantastic sport

its athletic,healthy and full of fun.

plus girls like to survey guys playing volleyball on the beach so no  only that you'll be considered a jock and maybe even a hottie

Why do they make fun of you? That is just wrong of them, if you love the sport, play it more often, go play on a team, alot of boys play volly ball! I'm awful at it, but I still love the sport! It's a great way to stay healthy, and get excerise!

At our school we had a guy who was 17 help out the girls. He went to practice everyday, went to the games but wasn't allowed to play with the girls. Havn't you ever seen those guys play on the beach?

Yeah its okay for a boy to like volleyball. I know this guy who made fun of volleyball last year and what do you know it? He joined this year and he's co-captain! He's really good at it too! Besides, I heard alot of people said that sports are usually for boys and stuff and guess what? Volleyball is a sport lol

YEAH! If those people seriously make fun of you for it..show them what it's all about. They need to see what us talented athletes really do! We are great. Guys are great at Volleyball! anybody can play, if they really make fun of you for it, it's because they can't even do it themselves!

Absolutely. I know 3 guys that play and they are ok with it -- they love playing and they don't let anyone boss them around or tell them they are wrong. You are strong for doing what YOU want and not them. Don't let other people take charge of YOUR life.

Absolutely, men have been playing volleyball for many years and have been very successful at it.  They can jump very high to spike a ball into the opponents court so hard that it comes right back up.  This is a very physical and demanding sport.  Volleyball was created at the YMCA for young men.  Keep playing volleyball if it makes you happy and you enjoy it!

well dont worry about it, i played volleyball last year in high school as a senior and i love it! i only played volleyball just once last year because my school established the boy volleyball team for the first time in school history!

so then dont listen to people what they are saying, just be yourself. trust me on this.

Yes, it's OK! I'm a girl... but I see lots of guys playing at the clinics I go to. Actually, it was a girl & her brother that taught me to play. Tons of guys play volleyball (altho not as many as girls), and it's a great sport. If you enjoy it, keep playing!
