  1. heck no im the best at math in my class!

  2. IMO, that is a gender based stereotype.  We all excel at different things...independent of what gender we are.

  3. It depends on the person, and their level of natural skill and the quality of education received.

  4. yeah..males are better at everthing!

  5. Males appear to be stronger in math and science because of a bias in the education system.  Since they are "believed" to be stronger in those areas, teachers spend more time and pay more attention to boys in those subjects.  This can lead to a better affinity in those subjects.  Girls are also "believed" to be better in english, history and home economics.  They get more attention in those areas.  With an equal amount of attention, there would be no differences.

  6. I heard in general they are because they use different parts of the brain.  I happen to have a daughter who is a whiz at math, I mean all the way up to physics.  I think she is the exception to the rule though.

  7. some are and some arent.

  8. Throughout all my years in school I did notice that the guys were much better than the girls when it came to math and science.

  9. No not true.  It may only seem that way because society has historically said so, thus becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy.

  10. studies have proven that males learn faster than females

  11. Yes. I think it is because of different thought patterns.

  12. Males are expected to excel in math, and science.  It's a silent and strong message. However females are no longer channeled into liberal arts activities.  There are many great female scientists, chemists, engineers, mathematicians, astronomers, physicists, Md's, agronomists, biologists, etc. etc/ etc.  Females have learned the benefits from establishing a "good ol' girl" system.  Finally.  There is much neurology research taking place in an effort to determine the dominant pathways to the individual regions of our brains.  While we know a lot about the brain, in reality, we are really just tapping the edge of available data about our brains.

  13. Because of differences in brain structure between genders, males and females have a tendency to do better at different subjects.  "Tendency" being the key word here.

  14. Haha, NO.

And that's all there is too it.

  15. Well it is not relevantly true because we should all have an equal opportunity at things. However statistically shown, males are strong in math and sciences because there is an applied approach... relevant to this would be guys doing sports.

Girls are strong in English and History... most likely because they have the patient to read and absorb information better... relevant to home decor, gardening, fashion and what you girls do best.

Hope I haven't contradicted my points.

  16. Typically yes. That doesn't mean that women can't be good in it either though. It's just like how women are typically better in english.
