I have always wanted to go there along with many other places. But is Italy like America in the South or is it really nice?

  1. Hi!

Blacks are treated well, don't worry about that. In general, all people who come in Italy from abroad are welcome.

    Bye!

  2. I live in Rome,here ppl are very friendly.You won't have any problem ^^

  3. No is the opposite! Actually in the south people are far less racist then the north part and they have as well deal with those racists beasts from the north...so it depends in which part of Italy you are going...you won't find many people who mind so much about the skin tone but more about your behaviour

  4. The idea that human beings are strictly divided into "white" "black" "hispanic" and "Asian" is typically American. In Italy one can make difference between local people and strangers (typically, those who dont speak Italian or not very much), not between colours of skin. And Italians are usually very friendly with strangers. Of course, it depends what you do as a stranger (or as an Italian!)

  5. there is nbo problem!!! we are very friendly...I'm italian and I live in Rome!!!

  6. Just go in some tourist place. I think there won't be any problems.

  7. no they r not . actually i think they are kinda cool

  8. This Spring I traveled with a large group, blacks, whites, Asian Indians and Orientals - with absolutely no problems. Another stereotype that you don't have to worry about is "The Ugly American" - where foreign nationals won't like you because you fail to accept local customs and because of your "wasteful consumerism." When you go to a foreign country you are going to be spending money on people who are there to cater to the needs of tourists. They like that you are there, they appreciate you and they want you to come back and tell all your friends. It's not that they are superficial, but the people you will interact with see all different kinds of people and color they are most concerned with is that of your money.

This said, there is institutional racism in Italy against the Roma (Gypsies).
