  1. I believe he is a martial artist.

  2. He is a martial artist, but it is Kung Fu, which is more of an art form/dance than a practical method of self defense.

    He's more of a stuntman.

  3. He know several types of martial arts, for his clasic he idd al lhis own stunts, only recently has he admited to using stunt dbls, but hes like 50 and his put his body through h**l , but to aswer ure question he still perform all his own martial arts scenes him self.

  4. yes I think that he is a martial artists i read this on the internet

Jackie Chan has studied several forms of Kung Fu. He has trained under GrandMaster Leung Ting in Wing Chun, (Bruce Lee also studied this) as well as Tong Long (Mantis), Bak Mei (White Eyebrow), as well as the northern Shaolin Kung Fu he learned in opera school.

He has also learned other styles of martial arts to help his screen fighting, including Hapkido, Boxing, Judo, Taekwondo and Hei Long. Jackie's personal style is a mixture of Wing Chun, Hapkido and Judo

  5. it's his stunts.

he did one on ellen...it was funny..

  6. No, Jackie Chan is not a real martial artist.  He's an acrobat turned stuntman.  But he does all his own stunts.

  7. he is the real deal .....shows him doing the stuff during filming at the end of most his movies

  8. of coarse he is reel look at deleted scenes from his movies.

  9. He's a real martial artist, and it isn't all stunt men.  I'm sure, with age, that he now allows more of his stunts to be done for him, but if you look at any of his movies, particularly his first few mainstream US ones, the outtake reels are full of all his stunts that didn't quite work out.

I think in "Rumble In the Bronx" they showed them painting the cast on his foot to look like a sneaker, for example.

Now, is he a martial arts master, like Bruce Lee or Jet Li?  I don't think his level of accomplishment, strictly as a pure martial artist is at that level, but he's the real deal.

  10. He is, he does his own stunts

  11. Yes he really is a martial artist and knows allot of kund fu styles. He is also a real stuntman,he has his own stuntman team. Most of the bad guys in his fights in the movies are a part of his stunt team

  12. jackie chan does mort of his work  him and jet li.. i love them both one of my favorite actors... always up fpr a laugh... gotta love da asains

  13. Jackie Chan performs most of his own stunts, which are choreographed by the Jackie Chan Stunt Team. Since the team's establishment in 1983, Chan has used it in all his subsequent films to make choreographing easier, given his understanding of each member's abilities. Chan and his team undertake many of the stunts performed by other characters in his films, shooting the scenes such that their faces are obscured.

The dangerous nature of his stunts makes it difficult for Chan to get insurance, especially in the United States, where his stunt work is contractually limited. Chan holds the Guinness World Record for "Most Stunts By A Living Actor", which emphasises "no insurance company will underwrite Chan's productions, in which he performs all his own stunts".In addition, he holds an unrecognised record for the most number of takes for a single shot in a film, having shot over 2900 retakes for a complex scene involving a badminton game in Dragon Lord.

Chan has been injured numerous times attempting stunts; many of them have been shown as outtakes or bloopers during the closing credits of his films. He came closest to death filming Armour of God, when he fell from a tree and fractured his skull, resulting in a permanent hole in his head. Over the years, Chan has dislocated his pelvis and broken his fingers, toes, nose, both cheekbones, hips, sternum, neck and ribs on numerous occasions.

  14. Yes jackie Chan does his own stunts

As you would know if you had seen the credits of some of his earlier movies

You get to see where the stunts went wrong.

There have been some serious injuries in the past

  15. His fame rests on the fact that he did all the stunts that were filmed.

  16. a martial artist and a stunt man

  17. Jackie Chan does his own stunts and even choreographs a lot of them.
