Is Jamaica a U.S or British Territory?

I've been hearing from some people that Jamaica is a U.S territory while i'm hearing from others that its a British territory. Who really owns or governs the island?

No Jamaica has never had anything to do with the US.  It was part of the British Commonwealth, so does have ties there.

What you may be hearing about is the US Virgin Islands they are a US Territory, along with Puerto Rico.
