Is Jamaica a U.S or British Territory?

I've been hearing from some people that Jamaica is a U.S territory while i'm hearing from others that its a British territory. Who really owns or governs the island?

    What you may be hearing about is the US Virgin Islands they are a US Territory, along with Puerto Rico.
