It doesn't matter really, China already has 35 Gold and the Olympics are only half way done. We only got 36 Gold TOTAL in 2004 and they just about have that now. We may beat them in Total medals but definitely not gold.

I would say just like any other country we are trying to win medals for our own country. I don't think there is a pact between the for Jamaica to help the US with its medal haul.

If you think Jamaica is all the US have to worry about, you are in for a big surprise. All the other countries in the world are fast catching up. UK and Australia already swiped quite a few medals from the US. Keep up your ignorant self-centered attitude and you will be surprised where US might end up in the medal table next Olympics.

edit: ok.... But we deserve a chance of getting golds too and Track is one of the only sports that our country has the money to develop our athletes and thankfully we excel at it. I'm not so happy our Asafa Powell didn't get a medal in his 100m race but I don't complain that Dix won and added to USA's medal tally

Blocking?  I don't understand.  What makes American athletes more worthy than any other country?  Every athlete deserves a chance, no matter what country they're from.  The most worthy athlete is the one who cleanly wins the event.  No American complains when Michael Phelps blocks a ton of athletes from other countries from winning golds, there's no reason for you to complain the same way.

No need to get competitive about number of medals since any system of counting medals is flawed by default.  Just enjoy the Olympic Games and Bolt's amazing speed.
