Is Jay Cutler ready for a big year?

He showed tremendous improvement last year, and he's been the better fantasy QB in a 2006 class that brought 4 out of 5 starters, where Kellen Clemens is looking as a potential starter.

  1. Consider that Jay Cutler has that kind of improvement despite raging diabetes.  He lost 35 pounds and admitted to have no energy in games.

I think he is poised for a major breakout.  He has arguably the strongest arm in football, and has Mike Shanahan grooming him for success.  People forget how well Jake Plummer performed under Shanahan's guidance.

Cutler will be a tremendous value this season, and will reward managers who elect to pass on big name QBs like Manning, Brady, McNabb, Romo and Brees.

As for targets, Marshall is not the only reliable weapon.  He now has Darrell Jackson, Brandon Stokely returns, and Scheffler and Graham are a nice TE tandem.  For depth Denver has Parker and Colbert.

Do be aware that Marshall could face NFL discipline for a DUI and multiple assault charges in Georgia.

Clemens is still something of a mystery.  He is certainly worth a late round flyer.

  2. I wouldn't say a big year but look for 3500 yards and 22-25 TD's.

I would say watch the ongoing troubles that is facing B.Marshall and see if his off field antics land him in jail or on the suspended list. Not to mention Marshall has that problem with his forearm after punching it through a TV

Cutlers success will hinge on his one and only true target Brandon Marshall
