Question:

Is Jerry Porter the worst WR signing this offseason?

He missed most of minicamp and organized team activities with hamstring problems. Now, he's undergone surgery and will miss the start of the season.

He signed a six-year, $30 million deal with Jacksonville.

Along with your answer, give some fantasy analysis. Does this mean Reggie Williams is worth a flyer in the 12th round? Will Maurice Jones-Drew get more receptions as a result? Will Matt Jones wipe off the powdered sugar beneath his nose?

  1. yes finally hes out of oakland he will bring that locker room down sorry if u a jags fan

  2. Porter is and has always been a wimpy punk with speed.

I think (watch out) Troy Williamson has a chance to play up to the potential he never showed in Minnesota. David Garrard can hit him on the fly the way other QBs haven't.

  3. it is not that bad of a signing. I do think they gave him too much money and i would not have signed him to 6 years. They needed immediate help in the passing game. Williams is a good complimentary player, but not a #1, he could benefit by this signing, as it may take pressure off him and let him settle into a role that he can handle. Porter will likely flourish in an environment that is not in disarray (Raiders). Prediction-70 Rec, 1000 yds, 7td's. They did overpay for him a little, but there are not many great WR to grab in free agency. As far as M. Jones......See Ya!!! Nice career you f*ck!!

  4. I agree.

  5. yep, definately not worth the money i'm predicting John Broussard on the Jags will have a better season.
