They are giving him a million dollar raise. I asked this question over a half hour ago but I suppose they are having trouble with the network and it never got posted. Hopefully this one will get through.

  1. I don't think so. He never changed his gameplan when the Buckeyes were clearly on the losing end again. You have to find ways to win.

  2. Of course he's worth it.

He's OWNED the Wolverines since he's been there (only lost to them once). To the Boosters and the generous Alums, that's more important than anything else.

On the flip, he's made three NC game appearances. He has a good winning record and he brings an air of class and discipline to the 'Shoe where it was non-existent for eons under one John Cooper.

He is also a great recruiter. He can go into darn near anyone else's back yard and take all their good kids (he takes folks from Florida, Michigan and Pennsylvania constantly). Their roster is deep every year and their individual players are always winning national awards for their achievements.

He's just a total package that any university would be lucky to have. Yes, they'd better pay him another cool mil so he'll stick around (lol)

  3. Yea he deserves it...he has brought them to 3 BCS Title games and one of them they shouldn't have even been it last year starting off ranked 11 overall...plus the most important stat is that he is 6-1 against the HATED Wolverines...and probably this year he'll end up being 7-1 against them...

  4. Lets see he's 1-2 in the National Championship. Name another coach

in modern times that been to more. Not Saban,Not Urban,Not Miles,

Not Ritch, Not Fulmer,Not Croom,Not Spurrier,Not Nutt, hmmmmmmmm close would be stoops with two attempts and USC Pete Caroll. So based on being very consistant in getting his team in the position to win the nation title almost on a yearly basis, answer is

h**l yeah, worth every penny of it too, and again he's on his hunt for a

    fourth appearance.

Highest paid coach is what I beleive he should be: Just Too consisitant, great recruiter, solid coach. Nothing but respect for his accomplishments.

This coming from a diehard WVU fan too...

  5. Football salaries are paid based on past performance. Tressell is an excellent coach, having already delivered a National Championship several years back. If OSU did not pay him a competitive salary, I'm certain others would line up to do so.  He also is an example of how to conduct oneself in the role of big college football coach.  How many coaches do you know who have been in the number of National Championship contests he has in the same time frame? Pete Carroll?  Better keep him.

  6. 6-1 against Michigan

    A National Championship

Okay so they lost 2 National Championships...but come on there are what? 118 teams in I-A that weren't in that game. Paterno and Bowden didn't win the National Championship every year.
