Is Joe Lieberman Republican, Democrat, Independent, or whatever benefits him the most at the time?

He is speaking at the Republican National Convention, as an Independent Senator from Connecticut and says "I'm a Democrat who supports McCain."

What's up with that?

  2. That's a great question - he certainly has no credibility at this point.  And his values are supposed to be completely the opposite from Palin's and yet he supports Palin after meeting with her a couple times over the past couple days.

  3. He's now officially an Independent in Congress.  He was thrown out of the Democrat party for being too level headed.

  4. The Democrats abandoned him and in fact attacked him because of his stance on not surrendering in Iraq. He was forced to run as an independent to keep his seat. Which he won running against a Democrat put up by the Democrat party. The war in Iraq has also been won, which makes him the smartest guy in the room on the Democrat side.
