NO!   Volquez and Lohse will both fade down the stretch.  In fact Volquez already is.  Lohse is a mirage in my opinion.

Try to get one more average to good pitcher and then take the deal

That is even as they come IMO.  With the way Lohse has played all year and the obvious emerging greatness of Volquez, I think the deal is worth it as is if you need pitching help/depth, but there's no harm in angling for more; I would just not push it too hard because this is a solid deal as is.

And if this is any sort of keeper league, by all means get Volquez!
