  1. It was  a gamble because he only met her twice and she has no experience in national politics, so he did not have  much more information about her than we do. It is likely that internal polling and focus groups  showed that he could not win with a conventional pick and he needed a candidate that would energize the conservative base and excite the public and she has certainly done that.

  2. No, not at all. People saying this have not done their homework on Palin. Her credentials are quite good.

  3. Romney is too far right to help McCain's campaign.  Personally, they are both to left for me, but I see where McCain was going.  That was one of the best moves....he will win for sure now!

    NO B HUSSEIN OBAMA

  4. Yeah I think so. But its actually less to do with who he picked as how. He met the woman 3 days before he picked her. I think it makes it clear that McCain is impulsive (as if you didn't know that already) and that he is willing to do anything to get elected. Do you want someone who is impulsive (willing to make important decisions on the fly) in the White House?

  5. Yes...totally insane...and very scared....would you want to run on that record....and being a clone of President Bush ????

    .

If your not very rich you want change.....the last 8 years the working people have been ripped off and the new guy may not be any better but .....we gotta try something

  6. well.now, ya cant grind corn with water that has already run through the mill......how about focusing on the positives for a change...like their is even a comparison of candidates on the opposing side.  He knew about her since she was running for Gov.,   people act as if He's been in a box about this......sheeesh

  7. He needed an evangelical freak to appease the ignorant christian horde.

  8. I sure hope McCain`s health does not go down hill and she becomes commander in chief.

  9. He's out of his mind alright.

Romney has what McCain is sorely lacking, knowledge in finances.

Romney would have been an asset. That team would have had a chance.

And all the neocons that say it was a great choice have nothing else to say. What can they say??  It's a done deal.

  10. yes

  11. too early to tell, no one outside of Alaska even knows this lady.  I am waiting to hear more from her before I make any judgements.

But the baffling thing is that McCain does not even know her.  That is crazy.  I mean we know from experience that alot of people meet someone and get married before theyknow each other.  Ladies and gentlemen how long does the marriage last?   Exactly, they are headed for divorce before the ink dries.

Now McCain, met this lady once or twice, and in that tie has decided she is a VP material.  ?????

This speaks alot to how much we can trust McCain's judegemet.

  12. No, Palin is a great choice

  13. Oh, no. McCain is a genius. Palin is going to win McCain the election. They will win in a landslide.

  14. YES HE PUTS PARTY AHEAD OF COUNTRY

  15. Yes, I'm afraid it is.  This choice was absolutely goofey.  I don't know how others are going to react, but he lost my vote by making that choice.  I just can't trust anyone who would do something so whacky to make decisions for the next 4 years.  I'm now on board the Obama train (albeit reluctantly).

  16. Romney would have been a great choice, but Palin is awesome!

  17. Quite the opposite

Now Biden, on the other hand.  Baffling.

He goes against the change thing and has one of the most offensive personalities in Washington.  He has never been able to break the 2% mark when he has tried numerous times in the past to get the party nomination.

  18. You got something against women in positions of power?

If she does for the rest of the country what she did for Alaska I'm all for it. A state with a surplus? Unheard of. 80% approval rating. She must be doing something right.

I would love to see ALL THE FAT CAT LIFE LONG POLITICIANS take a page out of her play book and give up even some of the many over the top perks that they have come to expect.

She became the Governor and she did away with the Governors Jet and opted to drive instead saving the taxpayers untold millions with one decision. BRILLIANT!

Who was the last big wig to say they could get by with less?

A little ethic and morals would go a long way in making this country a better place to live.

Governor, and soon to be VP Palin is a pretty good example to follow.

  19. Better judgement than obama who wants you to able to deliver a baby and then abort it, she has alot more experience than Barrack.  MCCAIN!!! will be the next president!

No DAVID, you did not do your homework, they met 3 days prior to her being announced, but they have met before that!  Did you not watch TV?  They don't hang out regularly, but he has met her in the past, he was more impressed with her proven track record!

  20. Romney left his state in a deficit, what makes him such a good pick.

I never liked McCain but with this woman as vp I now at least like the ticket. I guess we'll see how they do. As long as the Democrats that were supposed to get us out of Iraq don't get elected we might make it thru the next four years.

  21. I agree with you about Romney, but I think Romney should have been the Pres. candidate. However, with our country as neo-hippified as it has become, inventing "rights" right and left, and each person only concerned with their own rights and their own pleasure, Romney would have crashed and burned, because he would have been a President anathema to that kind of people. The choice McCain made will be more palatable to liberals, and to centrist conservatives, and so has a chance to make it. Plus, aside to "Miche", the "Christian Horde" are the ones favored by God; those who are true to Him are, anyway.

  22. Yes, he is absolutely out of his mind.  What's worse, he will probably win now.  What does that say about the intellect of the voting public in America? It's a sad scary day for America.

  23. Yes, she was actually the only woman who would run with him...so he took it.

  24. Palin knows oil and gas.  Palin is ordinary folks.  Palin isn't afraid to go against even her own party to get the job done for the folks.

  25. It has solidified my opinion that he will do and say anything to win this election.  His choice would put this  individual in position to lead the country should something happen to him, which at his age is a real possibility.  From his flip flipping on issues to his support of bush to the

question of his temperament, this selection has brought his judgment into question with a capital J.

  26. Nope!  Shrewd move, very shrewd.  He has picked the right running mate, much to the relief of most!

  27. and Obama's mind isnt..this guy couldnt judge a pie eating contest..Obama's VP pick is a joke and a 9 year  old could have done better

  28. Absolutely.

Instead of doing what is right for this country, he instead made a decision based on his own needs.

Lack of judgment and incredibly selfish... all at the expense of this country.

  29. On the contrary, Palin is a great choice and I never thought that I would like a woman on the ticket.

However, now that I think on it a bit, I would much rather have her than Romney and here is why: People just didn't get the Mormon thing about Romney as it seemed weird to them. Further, Romney, dollar for dollar, didn't do well in the primary and he outspent all candidates. Although I like Romney, he didn't have a chance to help the ticket for McCain and further, Romney's past would come back to haunt him as he tried doing the state run health care deal which Democrats likes in the state he was Governor for and it is becoming an utter failure and this would have come back to bite Romeny in the rear end.

  30. Yes.

But I'm glad he did, at least now the GOP news / photos has some  good looks, and it's not as ugly / boring as it was 2 days ago ! lol

    Regards.

  31. not at all.  there is considerable judgment and decision making on that selection, and it has already proved to be noteworthy.

if it's the inexperience card you're trying to play, the same logic would say the democratic party itself is out of its mind to forward a presidential candidate with little experience.

there are many positive attributes of mccain's vp choice.  let's see how she does under the bright lights and extreme scrutiny that faces any political choice, and then render our opinions after we have substance to base them on.
