...a "maverick"?

Just checking in for an update, it's been a few hours since I was reminded of how much of a "maverick" the "original Maverick" is.

  1. Calling McCain a maverick is like calling Joe Lieberman a Democrat.....maybe a long time ago......but certainly not anymore......

  2. It is easy to have fun over the candidates and label them with various nick names. I believe we should take a more serious look into what is going to happen to this country in the next four years. We don't need a saint in the white house, I am looking for a candidate who can understand my situation and hasn't always had a life of ease and wealth.McCain is not the 19 or 20 year old that he was when he gained his early reputations and names. He has paid the price of youth and is now a serious man. How many of us didn't sow a few wild oats?

  3. John McCain used to be a 'maverick', only voting the GOP party line 90% of the time.

He would occasionally make some noise about an issue, or 'buck' the system.

The GOP doesn't like 90% party line though - they want 100%.  John McCain had to sell out to the GOP in order to get the nomination - eliminating his 'maverick' status.

People use his selection of Sarah Palin as his running-mate as proof that he's still a 'maverick', but that decision wasn't made by McCain.

It was made by Karl Rove and the GOP.  McCain had only ever met Palin once.

    For fifteen minutes.

  4. ummmm no the only reason he is where he is today is because of his daddy.  If his daddy was not an admiral he would have received a dishonorable discharge and Johnny boy would have had no political career

  5. he's is still McPuff Puff the Manchurian candidate.

Maybe by "maverick' they mean Alaskan Liberation Party or something?
