Apprentice Handicap at Dundalk?
The Winter Racing at Dundalk Apprentice Handicap is a highly anticipated event at Dundalk held on 17 February, 2012. The race will cover a distance of 1 mile and 4 furlongs, with 7 contenders will be competing for the purse of €5,520.
The race line-up starts from Johnnys Legacy, Silverlord, Shake The Bucket, Saint By Day, General Bunching, Jigalo, and Belle Noverre.
Johnnys Legacy’s year started in an impressive manner. He secured a second place finish on 20th January in Follow Dundalk On Facebook Handicap (Div II), defeated the race favourite, Mutasareb.
The 5-year-old gelding triumphed over, Discovery Bay, for the first place finish at Dundalk on 10 February, 2012 in the Bookings@DundalkStadium.com Maiden.
Silverlord also had a commendable start to, 2011. He was victorious at Musselburgh when he finished 1st in the Totepool A Better Way To Bet Novices’ Hurdle on 26 January, 2012.
The 8-year-old gelding whelped in February 2004, secured third place finish at Dundalk in the Group Bookings At Dundalk Rated Race on 3 February 2012.
Shake The Bucket will be racing for the first time in 2012. He stood first in his last race on 28 October, 2011 at Dundalk in the Christmas Parties At Dundalk Handicap, and defeated Humiliation. This was a massive improvement for the 5-year-old gelding.
Prior to his win at Dundalk, on 23 October 2011, he finished an unplaced 10th in the www.swordsecurity.com (Q.R.) Race, at Galway.
Saint By Day, the 6-year-old gelding is the son of Marju, out of mare Spring To Light, is gaining popularity and market support. He finished in 6th place at Dundalk on 27 January, 2012 in the Dundalk Stadium Handicap. He acquired second place
finish in the same racetrack in Winter Racing At Dundalk Handicap held on 10 February, 2012.
It is predicted that he will achieve a placed position in today’s race.
Belle Noverre’s performance and form is being doubted because of her recent performances. She has not finished among the top 3 in the last 6 races.
Jigalo’s performances in 2011 were far more impressive than his lackluster debut in 2012. In 2011, he was runner-up thrice in a row. On 29 January, 2012 he finished sixth at Leopardstown in the Sandyford Handicap Chase.
General Bunching, the 4-year-old gelding, finished 1st in the Follow Dundalk On Facebook Handicap beating, Word For Word, on 20
January, 2012.
For this race, Johnnys Legacy is attracting all the bets from the bookies and the punters. His trainer, Mrs. John Harrington, is also confident of his chances in the upcoming race. The odds are stacking up in his favour because of his recent performances.
Saint By Day is also a tough competitor, but he will be no match for Silverlord because of his excellent form.
