Is Joshua Allen from so you think you can dance trained?

I know that the judges keep saying he isnt, but it is just not possible!

does anyone have any solid evidence that he or isnt trained?

  1. Joshua was the LEAST trained dancer, but that's not the same as UNTRAINED. Training for approximately 8 years over the summers in ballet, modern and jazz is still a decent amount of training. And then Joshua also admitted to cramming in dance classes between the Dallas audition and Las Vegas.

    I think it's the producers who really liked to bend the truth for all it was worth in order to create a story line for Joshua. They did something similar with Danny Tidwell last season by portraying him as having an attitude early on; something to give him an apparent obstacle to overcome when he was otherwise so head and shoulders over the competition. Keep in mind that these reality shows are notorious for bending reality in order to create some drama for the viewers. Joshua could only truthfully claim that "I wasn't technically trained like Will or Mark or Matt..." So, again, that's NOT the same as saying he has no formal training, just less.

  4. That one is really tricky because them moves he has are killer!!! He probably did but not for a long time.  

  5. If you go to the official website, he says he HAS been  trained...and not just when he was younger.

  6. no he isn't professionally trained. he just practiced a lot on his own and he watched other dancers.

  7. There is no possible way he isn't "trained". I'm a professional dancer (ballet) and he is trying to downplay his ballet training as if, because it's ballet, it means nothing. Ballet, however, is the foundation of all dance. All dancers (except hiphoppers) can be pretty much judged by how much ballet they have. Josh's previous ballet training made a huge difference for him.
