This is a prime example of how Hatton waits for a guy to get old and his skills to get faded before he fights them..............

This fight would have been good 5 years ago, but Hatton was too busy padding his record with BUMS...................................

Lazcano was a pretty good fighter, now he is old and passed his prime......................................

For a fighter that was supposed to be in the top 5 five in the world-(I never believed that!) it's kind of a weak choice of opponents..................................

And don't tell me about how it's a tune up fight, maybe if your tuning up to fight another old or trash opponent!.....................

You tune yourself up by fighting quality opposition!

I've seen him fight a few times, and he is a pretty good, and very tough fighter.  He has beaten some quality contenders in the past such as; Jesse James Leija, John John Molina, Stevie Johnston, and Ben Tackie.  And his losses were mostly to good or decent competion, such as; Vivian Harris, a prime Jose Luis Castillo, and Golden Johnson.  HOWEVER, I favor Ricky Hatton in this fight because Lazcano was always best as a lightweight, and Hatton is the true champion at junior welterweight.  Plus, Lazcano has not fought since February of last year when he lost the close decision to Harris, while Hatton has been more active and his only loss was to the best pound for pound fighter in the world, Floyd Mayweather, Jr.  I do however, think that Lazcano is tough enough to go the distance with Hatton and even give him some problems, which is why I think that Hatton will win a tougher than expected unanimous decision in this fight.
