Is Juicy Juice good for me? And is it better than ocean spray, etc?

I wanted to start eating, and of course, drinking healthier. I dont have a problem laying off the soda, but i love juice. I usually drink cranberry or cran-grape, etc. I know juice isnt great for you, because of all the sugars, etc. I know ocean spray and the other brands usually have tons of added sugars.. Does anybody know about Juicy Juice though? Someone told me it is good for me, and since I love juice I'd be thrilled if there was actually a brand that was not full of sugar and extra c**p. Thanks!

  1. Anything that says 100% juice.  Yes, Juicy Juice does.  A lot of Ocean Spray products sell juice "coctails," which have added water and sugars.  WIC recipients can only buy 100% juice with their benefits.  There's the reason right there.  If you can't eat a lot, eat what's good for you.

  2. yes, it 100% juice

    just dont over do it

  3. You can get low sugar cranberry juice...I buy it all the time. I am prediabetic and have to watch the carbs and sugars and it has a very low calorie and carb count.

  4. All fruits, and fruit juices, even unsweetened ones, contain natural sugars called fructose. That's what gives fruit it's calories. Our bodies don't burn fructose differently than table sugar (sucrose). Sugar is sugar. So, all fruit juices are "full of sugar". It's the nature of the drink. Don't know what the "extra c**p" might be that you're worried about, but even pure, 100% fruit juice is high in sugar (fructose). That's why they are high in calories and not the best choices for hydration. You do better at "eating healthier" and getting fruit into your diet by eating the whole fruit rather than drinking juice. Don't get off the soda just to get onto juice. I like to drink water with some lemon juice in it. No calories, and a nice fresh flavor, with some added benefit of vitamin C. Hope that helps.

  5. Yes.  Juicy Juice is the box drink best for you, after Junior Juice, though the latter may not be produced any longer.  In that case, Juicy Juice is the best.

  6. It's all overly processed and probably void of any natural enzymes by the time they bottle it but at LEAST it's not that sugar-added garbage most people drink nowadays or worse SODA. It's actually hard to find a wholesome product among the c**p on the shelves.

I'd bear in mind-- it's STILL a ton of sugar. Water's always the way to go. A juice like that should be on occasion-- not all the time.

Stay away from anything that says "cocktail"-- it's another  word for "sugar water".
