  1. I have been in July and then in Oct.  It is very hot in July, but it is hot all the time.  You are closer to the sun and you can really feel it, be prepared and take sunscreen.  My first time I burned very bad and had to go to the doctors and was miserable!!!  The good thing about July is the water is warmer and calmer, and there were tons more fish for snorkeling.  Just be prepared for heat that you have never experienced before!  I take a little fan that I wear around my neck from Sharper Image for the day trips to the ruins, and I am fine.

  3. Do not let the heat and all the talk of hotness intimidate you. Yes, it will be hot, I am not going to say it won't be. However, if you are prepared and take proper measures, you will have a fun time. Just remember to bring or buy a hat with a rim, wear sun glasses with a good UV protection and drink plenty of non alcoholic beverages.

One product I highly recommend you bring with you is called Emergen 'C, because it is an excellent source for electrolytes (sp). It also will give you an extra energy boost, not to mention a healthy dose of vitamine C.

As far as plans, i would recommend you do not take a day tour that will lead you inland to the Mayan Ruins, it will be very hot there. Instead, I highly recommend you plan on taking tours that are more water based. You should consider a swim with dolphins, whale sharks and or snorkeling tours. Have fun planning your vacation in paradise,

  4. Ya, it should be fun, hot..... but fun! I was just there a few weeks ago, i loved it, but make sure you know the term "no gracias" (no thank you). haha every1 comes up to you trying to sell you stuff in some parts, so if you just say no gracias and stay firm on it they wont bother you. have fun! : )

  5. Well, it'll be really freaking hot at that time, but most people go in the winter so it won't be too crowded.

  6. You will be hot and miserable.  With the heat index it will probably feel like the 120s F or even hotter.

Make the most of it and have a great time!!!
