Question:

Is K9 advantix safe to use around pregnant women?

I read that k9 advantix, the flea and tick medicine for dogs, is not safe to use around women who are pregnant or may become pregnant because a chemical in the product had tested to be harmful to fetuses in some animals. I was wondering if any of you had talked to your doctor about this or if you knew any more information. My husband applies the medicine but our two dogs sleep in the bed with us. One likes to sleep particularly close to me. I wash my hands after touching them, but wanted to know if it was harmful beyond that. Thanks for all serious responses!

  1. I don't know what chemical is in that product.  You should go to www.safefetus.com which will tell you about the safety of all chemicals / drugs during pregnancy.

  3. I sure hope it  is, I use it on my dogs and have all thru pregnancy..  I tend not to pet them for a few hrs after it anyway.
