  1. No longer does Bourbon have to come from Bourbon County, Kentucky, or, even from Kentucky for that matter.  Bourbon is made in other states also.  For example, Indiana makes Bourbon.

    .

  2. no we have bourbon in New York too,

it's all about the grain that the mash is made out of and the kind of barrels the booze is aged in that makes bourbon, whiskey, rye, etc.

  3. Yes PLUS it must come from Bourbon County.

  4. To call a whiskey "Bourbon" it must satisfy these requirements:

    1)  Must be made in the US (Not just KY)

    2)  Must be made of at least 51% corn

    3)  Must be aged in unused, charred oak barrels

This is according to US code of federal regulations 27CFR5.22

Now, in order to call it Kentucky Bourbon it must be made in KY.

  5. yes it also is the national spirit of America. No where else in the world can call their whiskey Bourbon unless it is from Kentucky U.S.A.
