Which means anyone who has at least ONE Chinese ancestor is a Chinese person.

And Kate Beckinsale has a Burmese great-grandfather who was ethnically Chinese.

"Richard Beckinsale's maternal grandfather - her great-grandfather - was Burmese."

  1. She has chinese heritage and if she feels like claiming it I would not stop her. I would however off hand say she is white. Nowadays you kinda really hve to ask.

  2. If you go by the outdated 'one drop rule' in the days of Jim Crow Laws, then yes, she is Han Chinese.

Just like Dean Cain would also be considered Japanese and Keanu Reeves would be Han Chinese-Hawaiian.

But today, they are racially mixed like most of the world population, and considered Caucasian.

  3. You are only considered biracial if you are 75% of one ethnicity and 25% of another. Or multiracial if you are atleast 75% of one specific ethnicity and 25% of mixed race.

By my calculations, she is only 1/8 or 12.5% Burmese, making her more than 75% Caucasian (87.5% infact). Therefore, she is considered Caucasian.

  4. Never knew....that anyways she is white.

  5. Interesting. I never knew that. But people would still consider her white.

  6. well keanu reeves' father was Chinese/Hawaiian and people consider him to be just another white guy.

  7. She's   Looks white Caucasian not Chinese so White is what she is.

  8. she is white. Everyone has "some" ancestors that mixed to some degree... she is just an average white person who has some chinease thrown in there from way back.. the average black person has some white, indian and chinease thrown in our genes from way back.. but were still considered black and our VERY proud to be considered black.
