Is Kendra a pretty girl name?

Question

I am expecting a girl in late November. I have aways liked the name Kendra and thought it was a pretty, feminine name. My husband says it sounds too much like "Ken" and is therefore not pretty or feminine. What do you think?

"Kendra" can be a pretty name for a girl. I once  knew a girl named "Kendra" at my church,and she was pretty nice.

Before I met my ex-stepsister, i loved the name, but just putting the name to a face makes me shutter. It is all about association. The only nickname i can think of is either Ken or Kenny, and it will probably get shortened. So in a way your husband is right. You could always use Kendra as a middle name. That way you both compromise.

I have a friend named Kendra and she doesn't mind her name at all.

I really love it, and I think it *is* pretty and feminine! It also means 'knowledge', so you can't go wrong there, lol.

Kendra is a very pretty name...my sister is also having a girl in november...she is naming her baby girl Kendal...I think they are both very girly names, there also is a hair product brand called Kendra...how much more feminine can you get!?!
